The Navigators a timetravel adventure eBook Dan Alatorre Allison Maruska

The first sentance he used the F.... word. Totally unnecessary. This set the tone of the story. It was in chapter 14 before something "exciting" finally happened.
I started this book because of the "gripping time-travel adventure." As I recall there were three or four time travel adventures and all were not very Gripping. I found the book to be slow reading (for the most part) and certainly not the advertised adventure I expected.

This story is ne that I highly recp0omend. The author has taken a look at all the paradoxes of time travel and given a new twist to our preconceptions. His characters are real people like we meet every day, but they deal with a situation that bone of could cope with, but they do so in very imaginative ways. You don't want to miss this one!!
Great book! Action, suspense, science and humor, this book has it all. I was up way late because I HAD to find out what was going to happen next. I really really really hope there's going to be a book 2
I gave up on reading this. Too much teenage foolishness. Not recommended.
I chose this book because I love time travel. The idea of going back and tee doing it all..fixing the wrongs in life and history. This book will leave you thinking God that you didn't find the machine, and wishing that someone would have gone back and fixed it all!. A stunning summer read.
This book was a mega-surprise, and not your typical time travel story. Dan Alatorre gives us a treat, complete with great writing, memorable characters, awesome suspense, and the best part is that The Navigators is completely unpredictable. Oh, and ... it's funny, too!!! My 14-year-old daughter is going to love to get her hands on this one, highly recommended.
This book, about five graduate students who find a time machine, tries to have it both ways with the device. When necessary for the plot, people believe -- without hesitation or proof -- that it's a working time machine. The plot is driven by the number of people who are willing to risk virtually everything in order to get their hands on the device, including the five graduate students who seem quite willing to throw away their academic careers and even their freedom. They eventually have some reason to think it's a working time machine, but others who risk as much don't have any foundation for their belief it is real. I could have overlooked this, but the plot is equally driven by the number of times that people treat the time machine like it is no big deal. A police force is willing to violate the law and even shoot at people in some situations, but in other situations, they leave the machine overnight in an insecure location. The reader is left to careen between these two incompatible stances.

In reality, a handful of graduate students claiming to have found a time machine would be initially treated as hoaxers. The author never addresses why this doesn't apply here.

The story moves fast, so most of these concerns didn't catch up with me until the end. It's a relatively enjoyable read, if you can ignore the plot holes and the author's strange reliance on having the only female main character constantly tucking a lock of hair behind her ear (it's presented in virtually every scene she's in and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to take away from it).
What drew me to this book was the cover, then to find out it’s about archeology students on a dig who unearth a time machine!?!? I had to read it. It did not disappoint. This book grabs you from the beginning and doesn’t let go until the. very. last. line. Dan Alattore is an exceptional writer, the details, feelings and wit in this story draw you in, and you feel like you are right there with each character. His characters are true to life, some lovable some not so much.

It has all the ingredients for a great summer read. A suspenseful time travel story, seasoned with entertaining characters, and peppered with a little romance, what’s not to love!! This story makes you really think about the possibility of time travel, and is done in such a way that I haven’t seen done before. I look forward to reading this book again, it’s one of those stories that I’m sure I will find some detail that I missed the first time, and will enhance the story even more.
